As soon as Fifty Shades of Grey was a certified hit film, the rumors began about Jamie Dornan wanting no part of any sequel. It was said his wife, Amelia Warner, was not happy with the Christian Grey character and she doesn’t want other women drooling over her husband. It was said that Jamie was unhappy with the way Fifty Shades turned out. It was said that Jamie was loyal only to Sam Taylor Johnson, and if Sam was leaving, so was he. In the end, Jamie has a contract for two more films, so he had to suck it up (through his rep) and state unequivocally that he would return for the sequel, if that sequel was happening. So what was it really all about? Was it just some random tabloid speculation? Or was it some larger plot to take power away from E.L. James?

Jamie Dornan reportedly quit Fifty Shades Of Grey and refused to appear in any further films in the franchise on the request of his wife, Amelia. However the hunky actor, who branded the previous rumours “conjecture”, is now said to be “committed” to the project alongside his co-star Dakota Johnson.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “It’s quite the opposite and they (Jamie and Dakota) are both committed to the project because of the benefits to the family.”

An insider also informed The Sunday Times: “Jamie has made it known that doubts could be in place if Sam Taylor-Johnson [director] exits, but it’s just a ploy designed to put pressure on James and push her to loosen her grip. The truth is that Jamie plans to do all three, and very much with the backing of his family.”

My take: Sam is definitely leaving. She’s getting all kinds of offers and I think she won a lot of respect from the studio for the way she handled a difficult situation with EL James. I also think Jamie and Dakota have to honor their contracts no matter what, but they will both be willing to play hardball with the studio about EL James’ control over the future of the franchise.

Meanwhile, Jamie has just signed on to a new film! He’s taken a part in Anthropoid, a true story set during World War II about a Czech soldier involved in a plot to assassinate SS officer Reinhard Heydrich. Cillian Murphy will also star. Well… at least Jamie is getting more opportunities to prove himself after his kind of awful reviews for Fifty Shades.

There’s been a lot of gossip about Prince Charles as of late, partly because an “unauthorized” (not really) biography has just come out about him and partly because Charles’ press office seems to be in overdrive for some reason. Perhaps Charles is worried that his younger brother Andrew, the Duke of York, has stolen too much attention with his seedy, gross and (if true) illegal sex scandal – go here to read some of what Andrew is facing these days. According to a new report from the Daily Mail’s Katie Nicholl (hmm…), Charles and Andrew’s relationship has never been this strained. The whole piece reads like the most epic Boy Drama ever, probably because it’s boy drama, brother drama AND royal drama all at once. Some highlights:

No B-Day Invites: Charles didn’t invite Andrew to his 66th birthday party, even though the party was held at Buckingham Palace and Andrew was in his suite of rooms in BP just yards away.

Andrew feels cut off: Numerous sources close to the Duke have told The Mail on Sunday that he has been ‘cut off’ by Charles who has ‘left Andrew out in the cold’ during his darkest hours. The ‘shutters came down’ according to one source close to a senior member of the Royal Family when Prince Andrew was named in US court papers by Virginia Roberts… it is said that the Prince of Wales has so far refused to discuss the scandal with his brother.

Charles never writes: Charles is historically “a great memo and letter writer to his family, particularly when it comes to matters of importance” but he hasn’t written to Andrew in months.

Andrew is embarrassing: A family friend says: ‘The froideur is worse than ever. Charles considers the whole sex scandal degrading, damaging and very embarrassing. He thinks that his brother has made some very bad decisions but he has said nothing to Andrew, he simply hasn’t communicated with him at all. There’s been a very icy silence.’

Charles doesn’t even want to hear Andrew’s name: ‘I was told never to mention Andrew’s name in the Prince of Wales’s company,’ the source revealed. ‘This is no brotherly spat. It is a seismic shift downhill in Charles’s relationship with his errant brother which seems terminal. Andrew is having to live with the harsh reality that Charles has cut him off and left him out in the cold.’

Charles is worried about money & Fergie: While other family members are publicly supporting Andrew, Charles will not: ‘He does not want to become involved in any way. He is very angry that his brother has put the family in this very difficult and embarrassing situation. Charles has very serious concerns about Andrew. He can see legal fees going through the roof, there’s a serious risk of Andrew becoming involved in a court case, and unanswered questions about his friendship with Epstein and this girl. Then there’s the fact that Andrew is still living with his ex-wife and has just bought a very expensive ski chalet with her. Charles thinks Andrew is making a fool of himself where Sarah is concerned.’

Charles is pissed that Andrew has always been the Queen’s favorite: ‘Charles knows the Queen will always be a staunch defender of her second son almost to the point of lacking objectivity and reason… which has irritated him beyond measure over the years.’

There’s more in there about Andrew “leaning on” his younger brother Edward and how Charles and Andrew’s relationship has been contentious, on and off, for years. Andrew is pissed that Charles took away the York princesses’ security, and Andrew is pissed that Charles keeps pushing Andrew away from balcony appearances. You get the idea. I’m an only child, so I don’t understand a lot about sibling rivalries, but some of this just sounds like typical sibling drama, only everything is EXTRA because we’re actually talking about the future King of England and his younger brother. And you know what? Charles isn’t even wrong about half this stuff.

Oh, and it’s true that Andrew is the Queen’s favorite. Phillip’s favorite is Anne. Charles was only the Queen Mum’s favorite.

Actress Michelle Williams covers the April issue of Elle U.K. and opens up about raising 8-year-old daughter Matilda as a single mom, which leaves her “feeling pretty exhausted.”

On being a single mom: “I feel like I’m so good at raising a kid when I’m not working. I don’t forget anything. I’ve got everything covered. It’s a real luxury to have a moment when I’m not scrambling. I feel like most of my life, I’m trying to do two things at once, both to the best of my abilities.”

On “feeling pretty exhausted” a lot of the time: “I’m the person who falls asleep all the time. You invite me over for dinner or to a party, and there’s a whole scrapbook of pictures of me napping. I’ve even been given a nickname because of my snoring.”

On reading poetry: “I love poetry because it’s like a shot, like an attack, like a dose. And for a person who doesn’t have very much free time, it does its work very quickly. So I read poems on my phone when I wake up in the morning. It opens you up for the rest of the day, and suddenly your life becomes a little more observed. And when it becomes more observed, it can’t help but start to become more beautiful.”

Congratulations are in order for Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry.

The Talk co-host, 40, and her musician wife, 49, welcomed son Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry on Saturday, Feb. 28, it was announced on Monday’s show.

Baby Rhodes is Gilbert’s first child with Perry. The Roseanne alum is also mom to daughter Sawyer, 7½, and son Levi, 10, from her previous relationship with Allison Adler.

“Our very own Sara and her wife Linda are the proud parents of a new baby boy and both mother and child are doing well,” co-host Julie Chen said on Monday’s show.

Gilbert announced the pregnancy news on The Talk back in September.

Secrets & Lies star Ryan Phillippe opens up to Elle about his struggles with depression, and says that he’s passed it down to 15-year-old daughter Ava.

On suffering from depression: “You know, depression has been a huge obstacle for me ever since I was a child. As you get older I think it decreases some, but I’m just innately kind of a sad person. I’m empathetic, and I take on the feelings of others and transpose myself into the position of others. I see it in my daughter. She has it, and I wish to hell she didn’t. It’s just, some people do have this pervading sort of sadness, or they’re so analytical that they can kind of take the fun out of things because they think too much.”

On the silver lining to depression: “There’s great value to it, but it can also ruin your f*cking life. But, that being said, if it was a choice between being this way or being completely ignorant I’d prefer to suffer through the sadness than to be a complete moron with no feelings.”

On his sense of humor: “I’m way funnier than people know me to be. And it’s a dark humor, like a gallows humor. I think that’s where, if you do carry any of that sadness or depression, your humor does tend to be a little darker than most people. And the greatest comedians do—trust me. I know so many of them. And they’re depressed and they’re dark and they have this incredible gift of humor to offer others and also, probably, therapeutically themselves.”
