Naomi Watts changed from her half awesome/half weird Armani beaded gown at the Oscars to this banging white Armani pantsuit for the VF Oscar party. She was there with her brother, Ben, the guy who is a taking her picture in the photo below. It’s a shame that Liev wasn’t there because look what he was missing. LOOK AT HER WALK AWAY like a boss. Sorry I yelled a little, she is just so damn pretty and fashionable.

Laura Dern was in a turquoise sequin Badgley Mischka gown and her date to the VF Oscar party was Wild author Cheryl Strayed. Turquoise is the color for American Lung Association’s Lung Force movement, which aims to raise awareness that lung cancer is the number one cancer killer of women. Cheryl Strayed’s mother, whom Dern played, died of lung cancer. On the red carpet at the Oscars, Dern also wore turquoise jewelry to honor the cause. A very good showing by Dern all around.

Faith Hill wore a red and black polka dot Dolce & Gabbana gown that was pretty fug. The dress had tiers of ruffles on the skirt and she looked over it. All she was missing were castanets on her fingers, maybe that would have cheered her up.

Another outfit that needed an accompanying mariachi band was Chloe Moretz’s black and red mess. The outfit featured a tiny floral pattern, bell sleeves, two layers of ruffles in the skirt, a mesh and velvet floral neckline and hem, and a wide black belt. So much going on at once. I do love her necklace, though.

Matthew McConaughey was on the only returning acting winner who did not walk the carpet at the Oscars last night. So I totally forgot about it. And was actually surprised to see him when he did come out to present Best Actress.

Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger always come out to the Vanity Fair Oscar party, even when Diane hasn’t been asked to present at the Oscars. I like that. I like that they’ve been together so long, they don’t care about being photographed together or any of that nonsense. Diane’s half-dress, half-jumpsuit is Donna Karan. I think this is so blah – we’ve seen much better party looks on Diane in past years.

Here’s Emma Stone’s party look – this is Altuzarra. I don’t like it.

Adam Levine & Behati Prinsloo changed out of their matching Armani gear (the red dress) for the VF party. I hate to say it, but I kind of like the nude dress on Behati more than the red.

Monica Lewinsky came to the VF party. Apparently, she befriended Thandie Newton.

Mindy Kaling in Salvador Perez. YAY! I like that she came out to party. Her dress is rather basic, but it’s flattering on her.

Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara. Is it just me or do they have absolutely no chemistry with each other in photos? I would imagine that, in private, there’s a lot of heat and grunting. But in public? It looks like they sort of hate each other.

Sam Taylor-Johnson and Aaron Taylor-Johnson came out for the VF party too. She looks nice. They look nice together.

Kate Upton skipped the Oscar parties last year, but she’s back with a little black dress that was beautiful but understated. I understand her desire to dress down when hob-nobbing with Hollywood types. Kate’s known for her body, but she wants to be taken seriously too. She wants more acting roles that don’t involve jogging in a bikini. She’s carrying a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely doesn’t mind playing up the va-voom factor. Her acting career started before Kate’s but hasn’t gone anywhere. Rosie wore a vampy Alexandre Vauthier couture gown with plenty of side cutouts and dramatic sequins. The dress looks like it’s made of liquid.

Brooklyn Decker wore an out-of-place white satin gown, which is an odd choice and very bridal. Actually, this is a more mature version of my elementary school choir dress.

Leslie Mann did mother-of-the-bride with a white pantsuit. That’s not a knock against her age. I’m speaking only to the outfit.

Selena Gomez looks half asleep. Poor thing got bored by her own dress. I’m just happy she’s not pulling the Lolita look.

O had some big smiles on last night, and why not, at first? She was going to see her film recognized for its achievements, even if the academy considered them perhaps smaller than she did, and frankly, she was going to go be Oprah in public, which is something she loves.

Three years in a row now. And he’s working with David O Russell and Jennifer Lawrence again on Joy, which is currently in production. Joy is supposed to open on Christmas Day. That means they think it has awards potential. So Bradley Cooper could be back for a fourth consecutive nomination….      

Do you remember that giraffe print gown that Piper Perabo wore to her funky wedding, which turned out to be a Michael Kors dress which both Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Campbell had worn on the red carpet before? That’s what I thought Christina Aguilera was wearing here, to the Vanity Fair Oscar party last night. This dress has a higher neck, a wider print, and it’s white and nude, not silver and nude or black and nude as we saw in the Kors version, which I liked way better. This is a pale imitation of the earlier dress, it looks cheap and it’s not that flattering. I would say Aguilera can do better, but that’s debatable.

Here’s Jessica Chastain, also in sparkly white, in H&M Conscious Collection. (Chastain switched it up from her Givenchy gown for the ceremony.) The hemline is so bad and those shoes are Jimmy Choo but they look like Aldo. Cheap. I checked with the H&M people (ok I chatted with a person online while shopping on their website) and they told me the dress is “no longer available” as it “is actually an older item which will not be coming back, unfortunately.”

She looks pretty from the waist up and at least she put waves in her hair for the after party. It was looking limp at the Oscars.

I don’t have a designer ID for Jaime King’s gold brocade v-neck gown, but I remember that she just announced her second pregnancy, on Twitter. She didn’t look pregnant to me at all from the front but from the side she has a very noticeable bump.

Patricia Clarkson slayed it in a white formfitting full length dress with a criss-cross bodice. This lady is 55 years old and she does not look pulled or tucked or lasered, just amazing.

Speaking of older women looking incredible, here’s Jane Fonda, rocking another pantsuit, this one with sequins. It could do without the witchy silver shoes, but you work it, Jane.

Here are some photos from the Vanity Fair Oscar party, the hottest ticket there is. I heard a rumor that Kim Kardashian managed to get an invite this year, but I don’t see any photos of her, which is too bad. So, let’s start with mother and daughter…Zoe Kravitz & Lisa Bonet. WHOA. Zoe suddenly looks so much like her mom. I used to think Zoe didn’t really take after Lisa at all, but now they look like twinsies. And good God, Lisa Bonet is 47 years old. Insane. Zoe’s dress is Balenciaga and it’s pretty tragic. But it’s just a party dress, so whatever.

There are still rumors about Zoe and Chris Pine. This is what Pine looked like at the VF party. YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU. God, I hope Zoe is hitting that.

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad, because of course she changed out of her giant princess dress and put on a slinky sheer number. Damn it, girl. I like you but you need to change it up a bit.

Amy Adams came to party in this blue Atelier Versace. It’s pretty but nothing special.

Natalie Portman in Dior – kind of too simple, right? I don’t mind a long-sleeved gown in a solid color, but it’s kind of bland on her.

Liberty Ross and Jimmy Lovine. I kind of love that she bounced back so well.

Thandie Newton looks fantastic, right? I love this dress.

People yelled at me during the Grammys for saying that Sia’s “I won’t show my face” thing is getting kind of tired. Some people seem to think that Sia is some terrible neurotic and she has some sort of psychological condition that explains why she does this. She does not have a condition. She doesn’t show her face in public NOW (she used to) because she doesn’t want to. Because she doesn’t want to be famous. So why the hell is she at the Vanity Fair party? Isn’t it pretty clear that this is a shtick and not a disorder?

Who wants to go to Mardi Paws?!?!

Over the weekend, Jamie Lynn Spears attended The Mystic Krewe of Mardi Paws with her husband Jamie Watson, daughter Maddie and her mother, Lynn Spears. Without a doubt, it looks like everyone had a blast, and it’s for charity, so that makes the event that much more amazing!

So, what is Mardi Paws? Here’s a description from the official Mardi Paws website:

“The parade is a fundraiser for non-profits trying to enrich the lives of children and animals in our area! The Miracle League Northshore betters the lives of children with disabilities by providing access to team sports they wouldn’t normally get an opportunity to play; Children’s Hospital New Orleans is the only full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South; Scott’s Wish aids people suffering from leukemia and other devastating illnesses; and The St. Tammany Spay & Neuter Program provides low cost spay/neutering services for rescues and low-income households.”
