It’s St Patrick’s Day. I wore some green today for the debate. And Irish luck was invoked on my behalf. And Duana is Irish. So she’s expecting an acknowledgment. She called it a “fly by the seat of your pants” kind of luck. That was pretty much me. Thank you, Irish!
Congratulations are in order for Marla Sokoloff and Alec Puro.
The Full House alum, 34, and her composer husband welcomed their second child – daughter Olive Mae Puro – on Friday, March 13, PEOPLE reports.
Arriving six weeks early, baby Olive was born in Los Angeles, weighing 4 lbs., 10 oz. and measuring 18 inches long.
The newborn joins big sister Elliotte Anne, 3.
“Someone decided to join the world just a wee bit early. She couldn’t wait to meet us,” Sokoloff tells the mag, adding that her baby girl will remain in the NICU for the time being. “We are so in love!”
The couple – who were wed in 2009 – announced their pregnancy news in October with a cute pumpkin patch baby bump photo.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Marcus Mumford were seen hanging out in New York yesterday. They’ve been friends a few years. Some say it was Jake who introduced Marcus to Carey Mulligan. Carey’s in NYC for Skylight on Broadway which could explain why Marcus is around.
Here are some photos of Ashley Judd in a Badgley Mischka gown at last night’s NYC premiere of Insurgent. Bedhead already covered the premiere photos here. Ashley looks good here, right? It seems like she’s stopped messing with her face.
Anyway, this is sort of a convoluted story, but let’s power through it. Ashley Judd is a long-time supporter of the University of Kentucky. Over the weekend, she attended a Univ. of Kentucky game. She tweeted something about the Arkansas Razorbacks “playing dirty.” As you can imagine, the people who live and die by their NCAA brackets took issue with her. Judd got a crazy amount of online hate for daring to care about her team and throwing some shade at another team. Judd was called names (c-word, bitch, wh-re, etc), she was threatened with sexual violence and more. So Judd – who is currently promoting Insurgent – spoke about the craziness aimed at her when she appeared on the Today Show. She says she’s pressing charges.

Judd said: “Everyone needs to take personal responsibility. For what they write and not allowing this misinterpretation and shaming culture to persist. And by the way I’m pressing charges…The amount of gender violence that I experience is absolutely extraordinary. And a significant part of my day today will be spent filing police reports at home about gender violence directed at me on social media.”
I sometimes think Ashley Judd is full of it, but I’m #TeamJudd on this one. This is yet another example – in a very long line of “examples” – of how dangerous it is to be a woman online. I don’t know if the answer is to press charges against the online lunatics, but maybe it’s a start.

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian out and about in LA yesterday. I’m assuming she was wearing some kind of corset or “waist-trainer” for her outing. Either that, or Kim’s “waist training” really has worked and she has crazy-unnatural proportions. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy an hourglass figure as much as the next person. If Kim was naturally proportioned like this, I would think she had a bombshell figure. But this is Ol’ Kat-face. We know this is unnatural. We know she’s been lipo’d and “waist-trained” and everything else. Kim also posted this photo on her Instagram:
It wouldn’t surprise me at all if she was doing real damage to her internal organs. Because YIKES. Oh, and I’m including some photos of Kim taken from behind, and as you can see, her pants are stretched to the limit and Kim flashed her underwear (go here for the NSFW-ish photo).
Meanwhile, one of Kim’s childhood friends, Nikki Lund, gave an interview about what Kim was like when they were kids. Lund says that she and Kim both started wearing makeup and dieting when they were 13 years old: “It was mostly the Atkins and the South Beach Diet. We did the Cabbage Soup Diet and we’d be there boiling great big vats of cabbage. We were like, ‘Yes, we’re going to be thin.’ Kim was always saying her nose wasn’t perfect. I thought she was nuts. Every girl has something they don’t like.” Eh. I think most girls going through puberty feel awkward and imperfect. Just because Kim was vain or weight-conscious doesn’t mean that all teenage girls who feel that way are going to end up being superficial Botox monsters, you know?
PS… These are the first photos of Kim’s blonde hair where I actually do believe she’s wearing a hairpiece or “fall”. That bump in the back looks like a partial wiglet, right?

Shailene Woodley is everywhere in NYC right now. She visited David Letterman, where he grilled Shailene about her clay swallowing. They also talked about leaky gut syndrome. Dave had a fine time trying not to laugh. Shai also chatted with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan about her exploding-salmon suitcase. I’ll concentrate on fashion in this post.
At last night’s Insurgent premiere, Shailene finally brought it in a Ralph Lauren dress with a plunging neckline and a front slit. The dress had a cool, buttony detail on the side, but it was simple enough to fit Shailene’s overall style. This is a solid New York premiere dress. She’s growing out her hair with a small ponytail, which I’m glad to see. Shailene posed with Miles Teller, who also wore Ralph Lauren (Purple Label). He may be a brat, but dude looks good in a three-piece suit. The other guys — including Ansel Elgort in Prada and Theo James in Dolce & Gabbana — are in the gallery, so we can talk about more dresses.
Suki Waterhouse chose a blush-clored Reem Acra dress with a lace overlay. She enjoys going for the princessy vibe, but the side cutouts ruin the dreamy effect of the dress. Suki pinned back her bangs – is she growing them out?
Octavia Spencer wore Tadashi Shoji. I love the top of this dress with the jacquard pattern. The skirt struck me as a little too boho, but this is a popcorn-crunching movie, so she’s having fun.
Zoe Kravitz rocked an awesome Christian Dior dress that couldn’t even be undone by a mullet. I love it. The silhouette is fresh and youthful but not too cutesey. Zoe’s jewelry is all Dior as well.
Ashley Judd went fussy with a floral Badgley Mischka gown. This dress is very pretty but too formal for a NYC screening. It would probably work for an awards show or gala.
Maggie Q fit the theme of Insurgent with a funky, futuristic Zuhair Murad gown. This is one case where sheer overly works, and the elegant, drapey skirt is a nice contrast to the intricate upper half of the dress.

This isn’t much of a story, but I figured “any Hiddles news is good news.” It’s not even really about Tom Hiddleston. Last year, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam and Mia Wasikowska began the grueling film schedule for Crimson Peak, Guillermo del Toro’s haunted house horror-thriller. The film won’t be coming out until later this year, although word is that del Toro has already completed post-production on it. The trailer was even released in front of Fifty Shades of Grey! And now it seems that del Toro is doing some special screenings for some of his horror-loving friends. The master of horror himself, Stephen King, tweeted about the film yesterday:
Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro’s new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just f–king terrifying.
CRIMSON PEAK electrified me in the same way Sam Rami’s EVIL DEAD electrified me when I saw it for the first time way back in the day.
[From King’s Twitter]
King’s son, Joe Hill, also tweeted about the screening, calling Crimson Peak “Del Toro’s blood-soaked AGE OF INNOCENCE, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurier territory.” Whoa!! So… this is del Toro’s masterpiece, it seems. The Academy famously hates horror/thriller films, but there are some exceptions (Silence of the Lambs, Misery, etc). I wonder if del Toro might want Crimson Peak to be an awards contender? At the very least, del Toro is probably looking for some technical nominations (costume, art design). I wonder if Benedict Cumberbatch has any regrets about giving up this part?
Here’s the trailer again:
