Will Smith covers the March issue of Esquire to promote Focus, his heist film with Margot Robbie. Will’s aiming for a comeback after some underperforming films. This is probably Xenu’s fault. Will’s bummed at how After Earth didn’t strike gold. It’s no wonder. Critics described the film was incredibly obvious Scientology propaganda. Hollywood still hasn’t learned lessons from Battlefield Earth. Get thee behind me, Xenu.

This is a long interview. Smith waxes philoshophical about his career, fame, fitness, Ferguson, and parenting. Will’s haven’t attended school in years. Remember the whole quantum physics discussion with Jaden and Willow? They said “education is useless.” Will says Jaden is basically living like a monk (in a fancy mansion) because “the younger generation is less of an ownership generation.” HA. My feeling on Jaden not caring about money is this — it’s easy to think money isn’t necessary when you aren’t hurting for it. Some highlights:

On fame: “I have the spirit of desire to make people’s lives better. Being famous is such a gift for me because small things make people’s lives brighter. You just shake somebody’s hand. You just smile and write your name and people will talk about it for the rest of their lives.”

On Ferguson: “It’s been rough for me trying to find my position in the struggle and where my voice is needed and helpful. You know, I grew up in Philadelphia, and Philadelphia has a really rough police-brutality history. I grew up in a neighborhood where it was very clear that the police were ‘them’ and we were ‘us.’ I also know that when I was seventeen years old, I had a $20,000 car, which made it certain that I got pulled over all the time. I had a red IROC-Z, the full stereo system and the rims and the paint job.”

On staying “cut” at age 46: “I like to look good, but I like my body to function well more than anything. For me, it’s as spiritual and intellectual as it is physical. And emotional. I enjoy pushing myself. There is nothing like having to change your physical form to put you in contact with every weak part of yourself, to train yourself in discipline. You get confronted with all of the things you’ll be confronted with in your marriage, confronted with in your parenting, confronted with in your job. Put somebody on a treadmill and I’ll tell you how good they are at any other thing they do in life.”

On living like a pseudo monk: It’s such a strange thing. Jaden, my sixteen-year-old, he has one pair of shoes. He has three pair of pants and he has five shirts. Total. He has refused to be a slave to money. I so respect that. The younger generation is less of an ownership generation, anyway. And it’s such an interesting thing to watch, because I came from a middle-class background, but, you know, our lights and gas would be cut off from not paying the bill. I grew up in a house where you would need the kerosene heaters in the winter in case the bills didn’t get paid. And he’s from the complete other end of the spectrum. And it’s so interesting to me that from growing up in that space, he could see the need for things in a way that he’s rejecting. He’s like, ‘I’m not gonna let myself need things in that way’ — but I would like him to get another pair of shoes.”

Smith also says, “I’m past cars and jewelry, you know? I don’t even wear a watch.” Well not as many people wear watches anymore. Everyone has a clock on their phone. Unless you enjoy wearing a watch or need GPS capabilities, there’s no reason to wear one. Yahoo says Will is full of it because he and Jaden raved about Cartier watches in a 2013 interview.

I don’t think it’s a matter of Will consciously lying about Jaden’s austeric ways. Will is simply clueless and has no idea what’s really going on with his kids. Jaden is extremely materialistic without realizing it. He pitched a fit on Twitter about not being invited to the Grammys. Oh, and he definitely has more than one pair of shoes. Jaden Instagrammed photos of himself wearing both Uggs & Nikes during the past week.

Even though Benedict Cumberbatch directly confirmed the fact that he is NOT moving to LA any time soon – because of his friends, family and Sophie, in that order – The Daily Mail is still claiming that Bendy has bought himself a sprawling LA estate. The Mail has the photos too – go here to see. For what it’s worth, I think the Mail is just repeating the older story from another UK paper. I don’t even think the Mail realizes that Bendy shot down this particular rumor at the BAFTAs.

What else? Well, Benedict has a new interview with Nightline. You can see the video here, but I’m embedding it below too. It’s a really short interview and they go on and on about how Benedict is “famous on the internet.”

He says he’s not on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram and that there lots of people on Instagram pretending to be him. But the Sophie part is interesting. When asked about Sophie in general, he says, “She’s great… she’s very cool.” When asked, “Even about the Cumberfollowing?” he goes off in what I can only think of as a warning to the most aggressive Cumberbitches:

“Yeah, she’s fine. True fans know that they’re treading on something which is very dear and private to me… yeah, I think it should be [private]. There’s somebody who’s going to come into the world as our child and I…I’d ask people to respect that fact.”

SHOTS FIRED! No, I tend to think he is trying to tell his fans to cool it a bit. We’ll see how that works out. Ha.

I’ve gone this whole time without ever knowing that Charlie Hunnam is a cat person. This makes me see him in a whole new light. I like him more now too, inexplicably. I love dogs and cats – I grew up with cats for the most part and now I’m a dog-mom (my fur-baby is 100 pounds of puppy). I’m just saying, I don’t have any particular loyalty to dogs or cats, only cuteness. So why do I like Hunnam so much more now that I know he’s a cat person? I guess it’s just because I love it when big, tough men are openly in love with cats. It’s charming, right? Anyway, Hunnam discussed his cat and much more in a new interview with The Kit – you can read the full piece here. Some highlights:

Hunnam on nudity: “I think I grew up in an environment where we weren’t particularly shy of nudity. My mum was always walking around in the house naked and I spent a bunch of time with my aunt growing up—she was sort of like my second mum— she was walking around the house naked, too. Over the years I suppose I have become very comfortable with taking my clothes off for the camera. It never really bothers me.”

His favorite scents: “Calvin Klein Reveal…I suppose if I don’t go with Calvin Klein Reveal, my other most common scent is Eau de Marijuana. I don’t want to be misunderstood—I don’t smoke marijuana personally, I just occasionally walk through a cloud of it, which is common in Los Angeles, and the smell sticks to one’s clothing.”

What kind of scent he likes on the ladies: “I really like perfume on girls, but I also like just something natural. You know, women smell pretty fantastic.”

Other favorite scents: “This might sound completely weird, but my favourite smell in the world is my cat, George. My cat smells so f–king good. If he’s been curled up in a ball for a while and asleep—his little chest just smells so good.”

Eau de Sleeping Kitty? That’s adorable. If you couldn’t tell, Charlie did this interview on behalf of his Calvin Klein contract. Which is smart, because now I want to know what Calvin Klein Reveal smells like on his skin. While he’s holding George. And who names their cat “George”?!? Of course, this is coming from a person who once named a cat Zelda.

Proud mom Jessica Simpson shared a sweet snapshot with her 2-year-old daughter Maxwell via Instagram Thursday.

“Maxi loves wearing her daddy’s t-shirts after bath…just like her momma,” the mom-of-two, 34, captioned the black and white selfie.

In another shot, the singer-actress-entrepreneur is seen promoting her shoe line’s Spring 2015 ad campaign. Posing on the jagged cliffs in Sedona, Arizona, Simpson looks lovely in a beaded gown.

“Sedona vibes for Spring ’15,” she wrote.

Simpson – who is also mom to 1-year-old son Ace with husband Eric Johnson – recently shared another shot of her gorgeous girl sporting shades.

Did I mention I got another job? I’m still blogging here, of course. And working as a reporter for etalk and one of the hosts of The Social. Now though I’m also a monthly columnist for FLARE Magazine. My first column is featured in the new issue and it’s about selfies, specifica…      

Judging solely from the commercials and clips I occasionally see on E! News, I think Brandi Glanville is having a tough season on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She used to be seen as the fun one, then she was the drama queen, then the drunk, and now it just seems like everyone is raging at her and she’s raging back. I’ll come back to this in a moment, but let’s just say, for argument’s sake, that Brandi isn’t super-happy on RHOBH these days. Would she really leave a paying gig? Apparently, she would. Brandi told In Touch Weekly that she’s starting to wonder if she will stay with the show much longer.

“I’m not sure how much longer I have on that show,” Brandi tells the new issue of ‘In Touch.’ “Maybe it’s not for me anymore.”

Brandi, who joined the cast in 2011, hasn’t made a decision yet — but if she does quit, she has a surprising replacement in mind: LeAnn Rimes!

“She could be good at it,” Brandi says of the 32-year-old who married her ex-hubby, Eddie Cibrian. “Maybe it’ll be her next thing.”

That’s funny, suggesting LeAnn for the show. Brandi is so Machiavellian sometimes. Putting LeAnn on a show like Real Housewives would be such a catastrophe of epic proportions – everyone would see what an unhinged stalker LeAnn is. Which is just what Brandi wants. Now, as for Brandi… I wonder if this is more of an angle to get more money. Is her contract being renegotiated or something? Because while I don’t watch RHOBH, Brandi is the only one on that show with her own loyal gossip-following. People care about Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards, but Brandi has crafted her own gossip-brand and gossip-persona much more than any other Real Housewife.

As for all the drama this season, apparently Yolanda Foster asked Brandi point-blank if she (Brandi) was an alcoholic. Brandi says she is not. Brandi also wrote a lengthy Bravo post about addiction and whether calling someone an addict should be a “negative label” or an “insult.” She writes in part:

Addiction is not a negative label, and it’s not an insult. It’s being used by some people to label others in a negative light, which I find distasteful and shameful. It’s wrong and discriminatory to view an addict as a bad or somehow a lesser person. Addiction is serious and shouldn’t be tossed around lightly to diminish others or as a slur or to create dramatic effect or bring attention to the speaker.

It’s possible to agree with Brandi and say that we shouldn’t throw the word “addict” as a go-to pejorative. It’s also possible to believe that Brandi does have some alcohol abuse problems, you know? Does Brandi want to quit RHOBH just because people think she’s an alcoholic?

Reality star Kim Kardashian made a memorable appearance Thursday (February 12) at New York Fashion Week with her favorite accessory — her daughter North West.

The 20-month-old tot attended papa Kanye West‘s Yeezus For Adidas show. After arriving early and playing a game of chase, the famous toddler was then seen sitting on mom’s knee next to Vogue editor Anna Wintour and pop superstar Beyoncé as they all waited for the fashion show.

But in true toddler form, Nori started acting her age and threw a temper tantrum.

Nori squirmed and squealed on her mom’s lap, and Wintour kept a hilariously straight poker face while stiffly move her body away from the tantruming toddler.

Kardashian’s momager, fellow reality star Kris Jenner, couldn’t help but laugh about the situation via Instagram.

“Best pic, AHAHAHAH North got a little fussy waiting for Daddy’s Show to start!!! We took her backstage for a snack right after this but just had to share…love the patience of @beyonce #AnnaWintour @kimkardashian #NYFW #YeezySeason #mommymoment,” she captioned the image of her granddaughter throwing a tantrum in the front row.

Mom Kim – who wore a brown, see-through body suit and khaki jacket from her husband’s collection – quickly took Nori backstage before returning to her seat.

The famous family were joined by other stars in the front row, including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Cassie, and P. Diddy, who rocked a fur vest and Timberland boots.

And did you see Nori’s posh duds the day before? Reportedly, the toddler rocked a $3,500 fur coat paired with Doc Martens.
