Recently telling that she knew acting would be her passion at an early age, Leighton told Cosmo: “I watched a lot of TV, and it clicked one day that these people were acting. It sounded like the most fun thing ever.”

Showing off a sweet little smile, the country singing cutie looked to be in a cheerful mood as she strolled past paparazzi a day after winning the award for Best Female Video.

As for the much-talked about Kanye incident, during which time he rudely interrupted Miss Swift’s acceptance speech, the hip hop star has twice offered up his apologies for his actions.

Most recently, West wrote on his blog, “I feel like Ben Stiller in ‘Meet the Parents’ when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave. That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her.  I am truly sorry.”

Kanye West has apologized for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for best female video at the MTV VMA awards in New York last night. The rapper rushed the stage while the 19-year-old country singer accepted an award for her song You Belong With Me, telling the audience that Beyonce should have won for her video Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It). "Taylor, I’m really happy for you, and I’m gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time," said West, as an embarrassed Beyonce looked on from the audience.

"I was standing on the stage and I was really excited because I had just won the award," Swift said after the awards. "And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on the stage. And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that."

West offered an apology on his blog, but still wrote "Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade!!! I’m Still Happy for Taylor!!!!" It seems he isn’t the only one carrying this sentiment, as Beyonce actually did win the video of the year for Single Ladies, and promptly invited Swift to join her on stage during her acceptance speech. Swift said afterwards "I thought I couldn’t love Beyonce more and then tonight happened."

Though she’s usually known for stirring up controversy, Madonna gave a heartwarming tribute to Michael Jackson at the opening of tonight’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

But, even after protests, she refused to reschedule the date, and religious leaders are now convinced her defiance of their sacred customs led to the disaster on Macedonia’s Lake Ohrid.

“The catastrophe in Macedonia in which 15 Bulgarian citizens died was a sign from heaven,” the Daily Express quoted church leader Nikolay, in the city of Plovdiv, close to Sofia, as having told Britain’s Daily Telegraph.

“The Orthodox Church had called for people not to enjoy themselves on the day marking the execution of John. We should not allow the young to have fun on a day that should be dedicated to spiritual reflection,” he added.

The news comes after the country’s Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, last week criticised sports officials for letting the gig take place at the Vasil Levski Stadium, insisting the concert damaged the venue’s grass pitch.
