Hey Nick and Vanessa, take this! Jessica Simpson has confirmed her engagement to former NFL ace Eric Johnson after less than one year of dating.

“Yes, I am excited to confirm that they are engaged,” a representative for the bubbly-albeit-unlucky in love blonde told the media on Sunday.

(Is it just us or does someone else hear the unmistakable sound of a shotgun firing off somewhere in the background of this sudden engagement?)

The singer-and-actress is set to wed Johnson after he proposed to her on Thursday, Nov. 11, six months after they started dating and exactly one week after Simpson’s former husband, boy bander Nick Lachey, announced that he’s marrying longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.

Way to steal the thunder, Jess.

Jessica’s wasting no time shouting her happiness from the rooftops: The 30-year-old star showed off her “sizeable” diamond engagement ring during a Kansas City photocall promoting her Jessica Simpson Collection fashion line.

Jess has said her relationship with Eric is far less crazy than some of her previous hookups. “This is just normal, thank God,” she told radio/TV personality Ryan Seacrest earlier this month. “He’s very, very supportive. [I] couldn’t ask for a better man in my life right now.”

Let’s just hope this engagement moves along with more melody than Eric’s last marriage: The “Come on Over” hitmaker began dating Johnson in May, three months after the sportsman filed for divorce from stylist Keri Johnson.

The beautiful Jenn Sterger keeps her name in the headlines after she has agreed to meet with the NFL investigators in the Brett Favre case, which is something you have to consider if are thinking of  participating in some NFL betting action this weekend.

Apparently, Sterger has some text messages and some photos of Brett Favre’s genitals from 2008 when the 41-year-old quarterback was playing for the New York Jets.

The league is trying to find out if Favre violated the league’s personal conduct policy, because if he did, he could be punished.

Deadspin.com was the first site that reported the incidents and the weekend Favre heard the news, he didn’t play a great game against the New York Jets.

Sterger never accused Favre of anything and even when the story broke, she refused to speak with the press.

Last Saturday, Sterger’s lawyer, Joe Conway was quoted on the “very strong likelihood” that his client would agree to be interviewed by NFL security. “I expect that such a meeting will take place late next week at an undisclosed location,” he Conway said.

People are waiting to see how this story develops as Favre’s wife, Deanna Favre, has not commented on the subject yet.

Putting on another dazzling display, the girls of Victoria’s Secret were hard at work during the 2010 Fashion Show in New York City on Wednesday night.

With plenty of eye-grabbing ensembles hitting the catwalk, Adriana Lima was the lucky gal who got to wear the $2 million Bombshell Fantasy Bra, decked out in 142 carats of diamonds, topaz, and sapphires.

Talking about getting to wear the multi-million dollar Fantasy Bra during the VS gig, Adriana said backstage, "It’s a huge honor to be chosen to wear the fantasy bra. Every year, every girl hopes that it’s her. It’s so special to wear it, especially during my comeback."

Other participants this year around included Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Selita Ebanks, Jessica Stam, Izabel Goulart and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.Also featuring performances by Katy Perry and Akon, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS at 10PM on November 30th.

Angelina Jolie is explaining why she took the role of Elise Clifton-Ward, the woman of mystery who captivates Johnny Depp in The Tourist, which opens this month. It’s because she plans things. “I was looking for a very short thing to do before Brad started filming [Moneyball],” she says. “And I said I needed something that shoots not too long, in a nice location for my family. Making the trek the Potsdam, Germany, the “She Wolf” songstress looked gorgeous upon arrival and awhile later rocked the stage with one of her exciting performances.Earlier this week, Shakira performed on the German version of the “X Factor” where she belted out her new single “Loca.”

Speaking of “Loca,” the song has been a hit all over the world and most recently hit the top of the charts in the UK.

Continuing her reign as the queen of country pop music, Taylor Swift was spotted at the 58th Annual BMI Country Music Awards last night (November 9).

The “Fifteen” songstress was all smiles as she mingled with fellow attendees, sporting a black halter-style dress and a half-up hairdo.

Miss Swift was awarded the BMI Songwriter of the Year and Co Writer of BMI Song of the Year at the ceremony.

Taylor is the youngest person ever to win the BMI Country Songwriter of the Year Award, beating records set by Bill Anderson and Johnny Cash.

Stepping out for a stellar performance, Rihanna took the stage at Rai Studios in Milan, Italy on Tuesday night (November 9).

The "S&M" singer was on-hand for an appearance on the Italian "X-Factor" as she belted out her hit song "The Only Girl [In the World]" for a packed audience.

The Italian stop comes as Rihanna gears up for the release of her new album, which hits store shelves next week on November 16th.

Prior to visiting Italy, the Barbadian beauty was in Madrid, Spain for a performance during the 2010 MTV EMAs.

Moving along in her pregnancy, Miranda Kerr stripped down for the December 2010 issue of W magazine.

The Victoria’s Secret beauty stripped down in the buff as she proudly showed off her baby belly for the mag’s latest installment.

And while she’s still a youthful 27-year-old, Miranda hinted that she may soon close out her modeling career.

She previously told Page Six, "My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch. When this is all over, that’s where I’ll be. I’ve always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen."

Ke$ha has said she’s not very big on makeup, preferring to accessorize her performance ensembles with a glut of glitter. But at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid on Sunday, Ke$ha seemed to have abandoned the sparkles in favor of a new over-the-top look that includes a whole lot of neon body paint.
Ke$ha’s lime green leotard glowed bright under black lights as she performed a live version of her hit "Tik Tok." The glow-in-the-dark look, so appropriate for Astro Bowling, was modeled after one featured in her video for "Your Love Is My Drug."
In the absence of Lady Gaga, someone had to bring the drama-and Ke$ha actually looks pretty cool with bright orange stripes down the middle of her face. What do you think of the look?
