Playboy sex empire founder Hugh Hefner has put his family home for sale in California for nearly 28 million dollars, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

A cool 27,995,000 dollars could get you living right next door to the Playboy Mansion, known for the sex king’s extravagant parties.

The two-story, 7,300-square-foot (700 square meters) English manor-style personal residence was built in 1929 and purchased by Hefner in 1998.

It has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a library and commons for staff. Some of the walls are hand-painted, and there is a hand-carved staircase.

The home sits on 2.3 acres (one hectare), borders the Los Angeles Country Club and has a pool.

Hefner, who turns 83 next month, owns the house with his second wife, Kimberley, who was Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 1989. The couple is separated but has two sons, who are soon to head to college.

Hefner has lived at the neighboring Playboy Mansion with three young women for the past several years.

Hayden Panettiere has taken to OK! to clear up some nasty rumors that have been swirling about her lately – namely that she lost her cool at a charity event and is campaigning to oust her ex and co-star from the cast of Heroes.

Of her alleged outburst against a celebrity gossip reporter in Hawaii, the 19-year-old actress said: “I have tremendous respect for the media and reporters particularly the press who treat the people they are interviewing with dignity.”

“I am appreciative that the press has supported me, my career, and the causes I feel passionately about. While in Hawaii, a reporter grabbed me suddenly from behind and frightened me. It happens. Typically, the press has treated me with great respect.”

On her former boyfriend and co-star Milo Ventimiglia, Hayden Panettiere said, “Milo and I are very close. We have enjoyed and continue to enjoy working together.”

For his part, Heroes creator Tim Kring says his stars’ relationship status has nothing to do with how he and his staff are planning out the mediocre show.

“The final decision about which characters live and die on Heroes rests with me,” he said. “I’ve made no announcement yet as to who will return and who won’t.”

So new Heroes spoilers to report, except that Hayden is perhaps less of a raging bitch than reported. Perhaps. Girl still needs to keep Paris away, though.

Not only does she perform for her fans, she looks out for them as well. And at a concert in Phoenix, AZ last night, the lovely  Jessica Simpson offered her advice to the female members of her audience.

With the topic of relationship abuse popping up quite a bit these days, the 28-year-old singer told the crowd, “No matter what you go through in life, no matter what abuse you go through, take your heart and run so far away.”

Right after offering that piece of advice, Simpson sang the song “Remember That,” which features the lyrics: “It doesn’t matter how he hurts you/With his hands or with his words/You don’t deserve it.”

Although Simpson has never named names, she admitted last year that she had been in an abusive relationship.

Author: Admin | Filed under: Reese Witherspoon

After a morning photo call for her new movie “Monsters vs Aliens,”  Reese Witherspoon was back out for a little sightseeing with boyfriend  Jake Gyllenhaal in Rome on Friday (March 13).

The affectionate pair held hands as they took a quick tour of Rome – shopping for wine and toys along the way.

Accompanied by bodyguards, the “Legally Blonde” beauty and her “Brokeback Mountain” beau then paid a visit to the Vatican Museum before calling an end to their romantic Roman outing.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, the adorable pair also spent time together in Madrid the previous day, as Reese and her “Monsters vs Aliens” co-star Kiefer Sutherland have been traversing across Europe promoting their new animated flick – with Jake along for the ride.

Neha Dhupia has lined up five films for release this year in a big effort to break through into the big time.

“It’s not easy to create a place for yourself in Bollywood even if you have a pageant behind you,” she says, “No one in the industry was holding special carpets for me because I had won the Miss India contest.

You have to work hard if you want to prove something. It’s taken me a long time to carve a niche for myself, but I’m glad that finally I have done it.”

Neha was Miss India in 2002 and a year later played the glamorous and controversial role of Julie.

This year’s fistful of five begins with Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, a comedy with Vinay Pathak and is followed by Paying Guest with Shreyas Talpada, Chunky Pandey and a glamour squad of Neha, Riya Sen, Celina Jaitley and Sayali Bhagat.

De Dhana Dan has Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy whilst Raat Gayi Baat Gayi has Rajat Kapoor and Vinay Pathak again in a black comedy of modern Indian marriage. Finally, there’s Raftaar with Emraan Hashmi, filmed in the Maldives.

Life can’t be all work, however, and whilst some stars are taking a low profile this year because of the Mumbai attacks, Neha will be taking a few days off to celebrate Holi with her family: “I will be celebrating Holi in Goa with my friends and family,” she confides, “This is the second time that I will be enjoying the festival at my house in Goa.”

Bollywood’s New Love Guru

Author: Admin | Filed under: Sonam Kapoor

She’s sweet yet vain and lives in a bubble of her own making. Over the decades, the 21 year-old Victorian heroine of Jane Austen’s Emma has infallibly amused us with her brand of misguided idealism and endearing naivete. Often said to be one of Austen’s personal favourites, the light-hearted pages of Emma revolve around an affluent young lady and her penchant for creating happily-ever afters.

Indulged by her father, Henry Woodhouse and best friend, George Knightley, Emma finds herself in a rather awkward spot after her challenge to find a match for the gullible Harriet Smith misfires badly. Not to mention her own misadventures with a couple of suitors — Frank Churchill, Philip Elton — before she realises what and who she truly wants.

Now the matchmaker is back. And this time, it’s Bollywood that’s caught her fancy. While official announcements are still underway, it is widely reported Sonam Kapoor will don a desi albeit stylish avatar of Emma Woodhouse for dad Anil Kapoor’s home production, namely Ayesha, along with Abhay Deol, Cyrus Sahukar and newcomer Arunodoy Singh under the direction of US-based filmmaker Rajshri Ojha.

Sounds promising, right? Here’s a look at the previous adaptations of Jane Austen’s trouble-inviting heroine on screen.

Ian McShane rules.

Perhaps best known as the shady but magisterial town boss Al Swearengen on HBO’s bygone “Deadwood,” this Golden Globe-winning actor is now expanding his domain with “Kings.”

On this NBC drama, which premieres Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT, he plays top dog in the mythical, modern land of Gilboa.

The show is inspired by the biblical Book of David and its story of David and Goliath. But while the story serves as an allegory for today’s political realities, McShane declines to reveal any politicians or countries on which “Kings” might be commenting.

“What do we say? ‘No names, no pack drill.’ We won’t talk about anyone in particular,” he says. “But it comes at an interesting time, I think — when we have a whole new-world order being put in place. This is what ‘Kings’ is about. … I think the show has come along at a good time, when people want to see some of those big themes back on television.”

McShane, of course, plays the king, whose rule, after 20 years, is under siege.

The 66-year-old Brit has played his share of heroes. But he acknowledged that, as a follow-up to his “Deadwood” scoundrel, it’s good to be bad again.

“The devil,” he says, “gets the best tunes.”
