Brit glamour model Lucy Pinder has posed for an energy saving pin-up to give encouragement during the Energy Saving Week.
The 25-year-old, who was the first to be booted out of the Celebrity Big Brother show, stripped to just some sexy green lingerie as she posed for the shoot, reports the Sun.
The poster for the Energy Saving Trust campaign shows scantily clad Pinder and the words Turn me on, turn it off printed on it.
The drive to cut back on energy is also giving couples tips to save on electricity on Valentine’s Day, including making love by candlelight instead of under the glimmer of light bulbs.
Lucy Liu wants to be cryogenically frozen when she dies.
The ‘Kill Bill’ star would like her corpse to be preserved in sub-zero temperatures in the clothes closet of late US socialite Nan Kempner, who was renowned for her expensive collection of garments.
Liu told style expert Simon Doonan for his book ‘Eccentric Glamour’: “When I die I wish to be cryogenically frozen in Nan Kempner’s closet, and when I wake up, I can choose from her incredible collection. That would be wonderful.”
In 2003, Kempner – who died aged 74 in 2005 – was placed 20th on the New York Post’s list of the city’s 50 most fashionable women.
Liu is not the only star with a bizarre post-death request.
Tilda Swinton – who won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar earlier this year for her performance in ‘Michael Clayton’ – told Doonan: “When I die I want to be buried in a shallow grave of sand, done up to the nines in a huge flowery chiffon dress, stretched out like a sail on a beach in the Hebrides, off Scotland, and pecked to pieces by birds!
The 18-year-old, who found recognition through Big Help’s TeenIdol training scheme in 2006, will be supporting former Ultravox frontman and Ivor Novello winner Midge Ure in his sold-out show.
Ellen was a runner up in the national songwriting competition Make it Break it, sponsored by Sir Paul McCartney, and went on to win Search for a Star at the Spa Centre in 2007.
She supported international artists Lucie Silvas and Roachford last year.
Ellen’s music has been heard at the International Music Conference in Cannes and she also features on the Teenage Cancer Trust compilation The Bablake Sessions alongside other artists from in and around Leamington.
Her debut single No Harbour is available to download from iTunes.
If you’re planning on getting preggers, this might put you off. Louise Redknapp has revealed that her second pregnancy was no walk in the park. “I had a tough time all the way through, to be honest, because I felt so sick,” she told Hello! “But by the end I was so big and uncomfortable and I could feel the baby’s feet in my ribs – it felt like there was just no room in there. “I have to say, I was the whingiest, moaniest pregnant woman ever and I reckon anyone who was my friend during those nine months deserves a medal because when I look back now, I was really awful.” But it was all worth it when Louise and Jamie’s second son, Beau, popped out on the 10th November this year. “Touch wood, so far Beau has been a really easy baby,” Louise added. “He sleeps and feeds pretty well and he seems really calm and contented. We’ve been so lucky.” And now onto the all-important chat about getting her body back. “Because I had a Caesarean I haven’t been able to exercise. And as much as I have moaned about that, deep down I have loved having such a good excuse. “I’ve been watching what I eat – nothing radical, just being careful. I’ve got another 11lb to lose to get back to what I was before. “For some people, getting their body back is the most important thing and I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t want that, but not in six weeks. Realistically, I think it will take about three months.” Does anyone else just love this woman?
Lori Loughlin is the latest actress cast in The CW’s new 90210, CBS announced on Monday. Lori, who first rose to fame on television hits like Full House and Summerland, has been cast as Celia Mills, a former Olympic medalist and mother to the series’ central teens Annie and Dixon. The still-untitled series will focus on the Mills family, who move to Beverly Hills from the Midwestern city of East St. Louis.
We are basking in this glimmer of hope.
It could well be love: 1, divorce: 0 for Liv Tyler.
And we’re hoping that this is the case.
It’s so refreshing when couples work it out and keep their relationship together.
… So it’s happy days for Liv, as it seems she may well be getting back with her estranged hubby Royston Langdon.
According to The News Of The World Liv has decided to get her five-year marriage to the Brit rocker another whirl, having announced her split last month.
Sources told the paper: “Liv was reminded just how sacred marriage is.
“She realised that for the sake of their three-year-old son Milo, she wasn’t prepared to turn her back on her vows.”
We’re simply over the moon with this chatter – OK, so we’ve had no official word from either of their camps but we’d still like to pass on our congrats to both Liv and Royston.
Yesterday in London, a rather militant looking Lisa Snowdon arrived to help launch the National Lottery Awards at Imperial War Museum. She was definitely in the spirit of the event, dressed head to toe in an olive-coloured uniform accented with traditional gold buttons — a different style than we’re used to seeing her wear as host of Britain’s Next Top Model. I especially salute her hair and makeup, which was reminiscent of the war-time 1940’s era. How to you feel about Lisa’s army-inspired look?
Lisa Ray was finishing High School in Canada with aspirations of reading Journalism at University when a celebrated fashion magazine approached her to model for them, and she ended up on the cover. This catapulted her into a state of instantaneous recognition. Her high profile career got her noticed by Indian film-makers but she refused many offers until the offbeat _Kasoor (2001)_ , which received a considerable amount of attention. Deepa Mehta then cast her as the lead in the light-hearted romantic comedy, Bollywood/Hollywood (2002), which went on to be a huge success in Canada. She also played the lead on _Ball & Chain (2004)_ , a romantic comedy, filmed in Austin, Texas. She subsequently moved to London to train in acting and concentrate on a serious career in the performing arts. She recently graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts and has subsequently worked in ‘Seeking Fear’.
Lisa Marie Scott was born on February 1, 1974, in Pensacola, Florida, the daughter of a Naval dentist from Chicago and a Japanese mother who met while her father was stationed in Okinawa.
Born into a military family meant Lisa moved around quite a bit as a child, living in such places as Guam, San Diego, Hawaii, Japan and Virginia.
During her junior high school years, the family moved to Orange County, California, where they settled.
By her senior year in high school, Miss Scott had blossomed into a pretty young girl, and was voted Homecoming Queen and Most Talented Girl.
She also had become quite an accomplished ballerina, and was accepted to ballet-training programs with The Boston Ballet, The Joffery Ballet, The San Francisco Ballet and The Chicago Ballet.
After a brief stint at the University of California at Irvine, she joined a ballet company in the Pacific Northwest, appearing in productions of The Nutcracker (of course), Coppelia, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, Don Quixote, Giselle, Le Corsaire and Carmina Burana.
Missing her family and Southern California, she left professional ballet behind when an offer to pose for Playboy magazine came along.
It was her first experience posing nude, but the exhiliration of modeling sans clothes convinced her to make a permanent career change. She was named Miss February 1995 by Playboy, and traveled the world promoting the magazine.
In addition, she began auditioning for television and film roles and landed guest appearences on shows like ‘Friends,’ ‘Baywatch,’ ‘Married with Children,’ ‘High Tide’ and ‘MTV’s House of Style,’ Deciding that she wanted to return to college, Miss Scott applied for and was accepted to several Ivy League universities, but chose to attend UCLA due to its close proximity to home.
Majoring in history, she graduated in March 2000 summa cum laude in the honors program. Transfering to law school shortly thereafter, she found her main interests to be intellectual propery and feminist law.
Overburdened by the workload and coming to believe she’d never be happy as a lawyer, Miss Scott quit law school and returned to modeling full time, setting up her own website (www.lisamariescott.com) in the process.
She’s continued to pose for magazine pictorials (in FHM and Vanity Fair, among others) and makes appearences at conventions all over the country. Her main desire now is to continue modeling, marry, and one day have a family.
