Barron "I had my first DUI when I was just 18" Hilton is ready to take the world by storm. Hold your laughter please. According to the New York Post, Paris’ little brother is currently producing an album and is in talks with Viacom to produce a reality show. How original. He told the paper:
"I want to be an international singer-songwriter. I’m sick of all the Hilton stuff, where all anyone cared about was whether I was doing coke in the bathroom or how many [bleeps] I was sleeping with. I’m done with partying and traveling. It’s time to get this [bleep] started. [The reality show is] gonna be like ‘The Hills,’ but real. A lot of that stuff is pre-setup or re-setup. This is gonna show the meetings, the production side, the recording side . . . I just want people to say, ‘Wow, this song.
Newsflash Barron: Your music really is going to "make people cry" . . . as soon as they press "Play." What’s hardest to understand about this story is why Barron has decided to give up on partying and banging random sluts. Isn’t that the whole reason for becoming a musician in the first place? I’d be inclined to believe that Barron’s aspirations were indeed altruistic and not self-serving if it weren’t for one minor detail: His last name.
Since America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks announced that the upcoming season would be offering spots to young women 5′ 7" and under, the decision has been met with some sharp criticism.
Vogue recently discussed the new height requirements, saying it has been met with strong "derision from the American fashion community."
But Tyra is not one to take criticism sitting down, OK! Magazine reports. At the 20th annual GLAAD media awards in New York, Banks addressed the criticism, noting, "The majority of the fashion industry is about tall girls, but the majority of the fashion industry is not about black women-so with America’s Next Top Model, I opened it for race, and now I’m opening it for height too."
Tyra’s comrades, including Jay Manuel, also came to her defense. "The fashion industry is quite fascinating to me," Manuel added at the GLAAD event. "Typically people will look at a model on the runway and say she has to have a certain physicality, that makes her a potential top model. But this is also the same industry that decided to take short Kate Moss and make her a superstar."
Valid points, Jay. The next Kate Moss could very well be lurking around the corner. Just in time too, because it doesn’t look like she’s in any condition to be photographed anytime soon.
An exhausted Lily Allen over does it in LA. The British pop star looked a bit worse for wear as she left Chateau Marmont after partying with Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson. Earlier in the evening Lily had performed a live gig at the Wiltern in LA.
Although she’s in good spirits here, enjoying a night out of dinner and a movie with friends in SoHo, Rihanna recently added to her list of troubles when she was involved in a car accident.
Luckily for the singer, however, it was a minor fender bender. She was riding in the backseat of an SUV just after leaving a restaurant in the West Village last night when the vehicle collided with another, leaving the front bumper damaged.
No one was injured in the accident and Rihanna was all smiles when she transfered to another car in order to make her way home. Girlfriend is not about to sweat the small stuff.
Guy Ritchie has succeeded in out-classing Madonna. Is that difficult? Probably not. But instead of kicking Madge when she’d down, Guy instead released a statement of support. This comes just hours after a judge rejected her adoption attempt for little Mercy James, saying that Madge had not fulfilled the requirements for a prospective adoptive parent.
In Guy’s statement, he refers to Madonna as “a fantastic and loving mother who cares deeply about her own children and children who may need additional help and support.” Guy goes on to say that Madonna’s motivations for adopting were only that of a caring parent wishing to give “advantages and opportunities” to another child.
Madonna’s former husband, Guy Ritchie, has expressed his sadness over her failed adoption of a child from Malawi and praised her as a “great mum”.
A judge at Malawi’s High Court in Lilongwe rejected the singer’s application to adopt Mercy James, a four-year-old girl, ruling that the child should remain in her home country.
In a statement, Ritchie said: “Madonna is a fantastic and loving mother who cares deeply about her own children, and children who may need additional help and support. I fully supported Madonna in her decision to apply for this adoption, and I am saddened that her application has been rejected. She is motivated only by being a caring parent who seeks to share some of the advantages and opportunities that her life has given her. This time it did not work out, but there will be other opportunities and I wish her well in them. She is a great mum.”
He spoke out after Judge Esmie Chondo turned down an interim adoption application which would have allowed Madonna to take Mercy to the United States, pending a permanent decision on her future.
Unlike many women who struggle to shed the pounds after delivering, “naturally skinny” actress Angie Harmon had no problems losing the baby weight following the birth of daughter Emery Hope three months ago. The mom of three credits “breastfeeding and stress” with making it happen because she “can’t even imagine” going to the gym any time soon! If she does decide to exercise eventually, Angie says it will be in the comfort of her own home -“I’ll probably try to do some sit ups on the floor!”
While the weight may have disappeared, certain extras that come with motherhood did not – much to the delight of Angie and her husband Jason Sehorn. “All of these curves and boobs and things are really fun,” the actress laughs.
Lindsay Lohan really needs to find some work soon. Apparently her stagnating career is forcing her to randomly wander onto concert stages for attention.
British chanteuse Lily Allen performed at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday night. During a cover of Britney Spears‘ hit single "Womanizer," Allen was joined by LiLo, who meandered around in a vaguely dance-like fashion for a bit.Check out Lohan’s cameo in the video below,
Madonna’s application to adopt Chifundo “Mercy” James was rejected by a Malawi judge Friday morning in court. But why was the adoption rejected? Read more on this story below.
The Malawi judge rejected Madonna’s bid to adopt the little girl called Mercy James.
The judge cited requirements that adoptive parents must reside in the country for 18 to 24 months.
Madonna, 50, can appeal against the order. Madonna was granted the adoption of David Banda, 3, in 2006 without meeting the residency requirements, which caused outrage by non-governmental groups that felt she was using her celebrity status to bend the laws.
Most expected Judge Esme Chombo to grant the adoption at Lilongwe High Court.
“We support her adoption process,” Information Minister Patricia Kaliati said yesterday. “Madonna’s been good to us. She’s supporting over 25,000 orphans in this country, and she’s proved she can take care of David.”
Mercy’s uncles, Peter Baneti and John Ngalande, signed off on the papers Monday. They were also present at Madonna’s pre-adoption party at the luxe Kumbali Lodge Thursday night.
“Mercy is now assured of a good education away from the abject poverty of our village,” Baneti told Us yesterday. “Madonna has assured us she will not cut her ties with us.”
Madonna’s lawyer Alan Chinula told Us Wednesday: “I am not sleeping sleepless nights over this. I don’t see any law in Malawi that can stop this adoption.”
Chinula told Us the residency restriction law is over 50 years old and “archaic.”
Let’s hope Madonna can appeal this ruling and be able to give little Mercy James a better life.
Back for another round of The Fast and The Furious franchise, Paul Walker is more than happy to rev his engine on the race track; Once the excitement is over and the engines have cooled off, it’s back to playing dolls for the single father.
In a new interview with PARADE, Paul admits that his 10-year-old daughter Meadow Rain is a complete “girly girl” through and through and loves none other than to spend her days with two of her favorite people: her dad and Barbie! “She likes to bake stuff with me and I’ve even played Barbies,” he says.
With Paul often filming on location, Meadow has no problem packing up and jet-setting off to visit her dad. “She’s seen a lot of cool places and I love to hang out with her,” the proud papa, 35, gushes. Over the moon with parenthood, Paul admits that the greatest words of wisdom on the special father-daughter bond he has formed with his child were spoken by none other than his own mom.
“I think my mom put it best. She said, ‘Little girls soften their daddy’s hearts.”
Meadow is Paul’s daughter with former girlfriend Rebecca. The new Fast & Furious – with the original castmembers! – hits theaters today.
Apparently, isn’t feeling the music these days.
The High School Musical hunk tells EW.com that he backed out of the upcoming remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon classic Footloose because he doesn’t want to be typecast as a song-and-dance man.
"I’m sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge," Efron offered while in Las Vegas to accept the ShoWest Breakthrough Performer of the Year award on Thursday, "but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. That’s what’s always going to appeal to me: the unknown."
Efron, who had been attached to the project for a year and a half, announced that he was bowing out of it late last month. Since then, Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford has been mentioned as a possible replacement.
And if that doesn’t work out, maybe Efron’s new wax replica can step into the role. From the looks of the thing, it could really use some work.
