A lot of social media (particularly Twitter) is hating on the series of W Magazine covers shot by Juergen Teller and my understanding is that people think the photos are too ordinary and too simple, like they are candids taken on an iPhone. It’s precisely that reason that I really like them. Maybe i…

Welcome back to What’s Your Drama. So you know how Lainey always has a mini tantrum about why she always has to read the questions (she does this again this eps) and I tell her it’s just in case I have an audio issue. Well guess what, I had an audio issue this week. It’s not horrible but just a head…

Brad Pitt makes his departure from an office building in Beverly Hills

Here are some photos of Brad Pitt at a Beverly Hills office building this week. The photos are getting a lot of play because of Brad’s tiny little ponytail. Brad has seemingly grown out his hair over the past year, so I feel like this is a pandemic-ponytail. It’s one of the most relatable things about Brad, as far as I’m concerned. I’ve been doing pandemic ponies and pandemic buns for a full year as well. I haven’t been in a hair salon in over a year! It sucks, my hair is so bad these days. I suspect that Brad has been inside a salon (not a barber shop) in the past year though. He’s obviously gotten some trims and, I strongly suspect, some dye jobs or highlights.

It also feels like Brad was heisting some artwork from this office building? It looks very much like he’s taking a piece of art – or something – and putting it in his SUV. As for his styling… very 1990s. Brad and Jennifer Aniston are meant for each other in that way, they both love some ‘90s style.

Mostly though, we haven’t heard that much about Brad recently. Some people were bizarrely suggesting that Brad and Kim Kardashian should get together now that they’re both single. Yeah… I doubt it. I even think Kim would not want him around her kids. There was also this curious casting announcement – Michael Fassbender is in talks for a role in a David Fincher project, a role that Brad was attached to one point?

David Fincher and Michael Fassbender are teaming up for The Killer, Fincher’s long-gestating assassin drama that may finally go before cameras this year, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. Fincher has been associated with Killer since at least 2007, when the project, an adaptation of the French graphic novel, was set up at Paramount. Brad Pitt, who worked with Fincher on several films including Se7en, was even at one point circling to star. The project was put into turnaround and was quietly picked up by Netflix, with the streamer and filmmaker starting from first position.

And while it was a good six years between Fincher’s latest movies, 2014’s Gone Girl and last year’s Mank, sources say this one is moving fast for a September start. What’s more is that the project is being written by Andrew Kevin Walker, the scribe behind Fincher’s screen classics Se7en, The Game and Fight Club.

In a deal that is still coming together, Fassbender would star as an assassin who begins to psychologically crack as he develops a conscience, even while his clients continue to demand his skills. The graphic novel, described as hardboiled noir, hailed from writer Alexis Nolent, under the pen name Matz, and artist Luc Jacamon. Representatives for Fassbender did not return requests for comment, although several sources tell THR that talks are underway.

[From THR]

The description of the role makes it sound like it would be more in Fassbender’s wheelhouse, acting-wise, but the whole thing is rather curious. It feels like the original plan was to get the Se7en gang back together again and for some reason, Brad either left or he was pushed out. Very strange. Still, it’s nice to see Fassbender getting some work.

Just after the Super Bowl, people were talking about Bruce Springsteen’s Jeep commercial as one of the best ones of the night. Then New Jersey cops suddenly piped up and said WELL ACTUALLY we arrested Springsteen for a DUI in November. Jeep was embarrassed and they pulled the ad. Springsteen’s people came out and said “not so fast.” They pointed out that yes, Springsteen was arrested, but when he took the Breathalyzer test, his blood-alcohol level was negligible, well below the legal limit. The cops tried to make it sound like the arrest was totally legit because they witnessed the Boss take a shot with some fans in a park, which… okay, that’s a “crime.” But it still didn’t make Springsteen drunk. So, big surprise, after that smear job by what I can only assume are MAGA cops, the DUI charge was dropped.

Bruce Springsteen pleaded guilty Wednesday to drinking with fans at a New Jersey park — but dodged charges of DWI and reckless driving because prosecutors said he wasn’t drunk during the November incident. The disposition in the high-profile case was announced during The Boss’ arraignment on the three misdemeanor charges stemming from his Nov. 14 arrest at Gateway National Recreation Area in Sandy Hook.

“I had two small shots of tequila,” the “Born in the USA” singer admitted in his signature raspy voice during the virtual hearing, as he copped to a single count of drinking in a closed area. Federal prosecutors, however, dismissed the DWI and reckless driving charges, noting that Springsteen’s blood alcohol content was a measly 0.02 — far below the state’s legal limit while driving of 0.08.

“It’s actually low enough that the defendant would be considered presumptively not impaired under New Jersey law,” said Assistant US Attorney Adam Baker. “We do look to New Jersey law as persuasive guidance.” Baker also noted that while Springsteen, 71, refused to take a preliminary breathalyzer at the park, that test is not actually required by law. “He did submit to the legally required breath test when he was at the ranger station,” Barker told Judge Anthony Mautone.

Springsteen was charged in federal enclave court after a park ranger caught him downing the shots with a group of adoring fans who caught the rocker passing by on his motorcycle. He has no other criminal history, authorities noted.

Mautone said he would impose a $540 fine on the star, calling it an “appropriate” punishment in the case. The judge asked how long it would take for the Grammy winner to cough up the cash — prompting his lawyer, Mitchell Ansell, to smirk.

“I think I can pay that immediately, Your Honor,” Springsteen replied.

[From The NY Post]

This whole incident was so stupid, my God. What a complete waste of time and resources. Judging from the way the federal prosecutor took Springsteen’s side, I can only imagine that the lawyers got together and were like “holy sh-t this was a bad arrest.” The cops totally targeted Springsteen because he’s famous AND because of his liberal politics. They also released the information about his arrest to affect his sponsorship with Jeep and embarrass him personally. At least Jeep has now reinstated the ads. Also: Barack Obama didn’t even wait for the charges to be dropped before he announced that he and Springsteen have a new podcast.

We can always count on “Kardashian Photoshop Fail” stories to crop up at least once a month. These women and their photo-editing tools, my God. Some days, I really do think that Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian really are sitting there and playing with their own photos until they look like cartoons. This month’s Kardashian Fail comes courtesy of Khloe and her denim line, Good American. Khloe thinks she’s the best model for Good American, and she posted some new Instagram photos from the latest ad campaign yesterday. People were like “wow, so your hands and feet are freakishly long and your waist is disproportionately tiny now huh.” Khloe tried to clarify on Twitter:

HA I’m cracking up! 4a few of those GA photos, we shot on a camera lens that creates a stretching effect. The closer the object is to camera they will get elongated. So in some of my photos my feet/fingers look incredibly long. Not to worry! I still have normal size hands/fingers

— Khloé (@khloekardashian) February 24, 2021

It’s just the lens guys! LOL but some of these stories are really reaching ??

— Khloé (@khloekardashian) February 24, 2021

Not to worry! I don’t have freakishly long fingers. It’s the lens! ?????????? I can’t believe I’m even tweeting this LOL my old hands normal sized hands are still in tack. Nope I didn’t get a surgery to stretch my fingers and nope it’s not a “photoshop fail”. Have a great day ? pic.twitter.com/NwVHhPmYLR

I like how she completely focused on the “what’s up with her hands” comments and completely ignored the “wow, so she made her proportions look wack, like always” criticism. I mean, it IS the lens distorting everything. But let’s be clear: Khloe manipulates the f–k out of her photos too. She gives herself a Barbie waist, Barbie arms, a tighter jawline and a cartoon face and everything else.

The last time Emma Watson was on-screen was 2019’s Little Women, a film I hated and a film which was poorly cast across the board. Emma barely turned up for any Little Women promotion, which I noted at the time. She did one magazine cover and one premiere, while the rest of the actresses (plus Timothee Chalamet) had to do a big promotional tour for several months. Emma has not signed on to any films after that, and there have been zero “casting rumors” around her either. So this was an obvious piece of news in the Daily Mail’s Talk of the Town column:

I thought only woodland creatures hibernated for winter, but apparently petite actresses do too. Emma Watson has gone ‘dormant’ according to her agent. That appears to be movie-speak for she’s ‘given up acting’.

I can reveal the Harry Potter star, who has been famous since she was nine, has decided to step back from the limelight to spend time with rumoured fiance Leo Robinton, who she’s been dating for 18 months. I understand that for several weeks until January, Emma, 30, and Leo – who reportedly makes a fortune selling legal cannabis in LA – secretly lived in Ibiza where she would spend mornings reading the papers over smoothies at a vegan cafe.

She is now in LA, where a picture was taken this month, but her publicist confirms her career is ‘dormant’ and she ‘is not taking on new commitments’.

[From The Daily Mail]

I know Emma has a big fanbase – and I like her too, as a person – but this is not the worst thing in the world. Emma is not a great actress and even in the last few films she made, her heart did not seem into it at all. In recent years, she’s mostly used her fame and platform to talk about feminism, literature and self-education. Which is totally fine! Normalize that – normalize actresses stepping away from their acting careers to pursue their real passions! I don’t even believe that Emma stepped away from acting just for a guy – I think she’s been looking for a way out for a while, and this just happened to be good timing for her.

Princess Diana made frequent visits to the United States in the last years of her life. She loved it here in America, and Americans loved her right back. The Clinton administration welcomed Diana with open arms, and during visits to Washington, Diana did fundraising events with then-First Lady Hillary Clinton. I believe Diana and Hillary had several private lunches/brunches too. But there aren’t any photos of Princess Diana meeting Bill Clinton. That would have been a remarkable photo if it had happened. Apparently, Diana thought highly of President Clinton. Or, at the very least, she thought he was sexy.

Princess Diana famously danced with John Travolta at the White House during President Ronald Reagan’s time in office, but it was another U.S. president who caught her attention. In a resurfaced 2012 interview with CNBC, Warren Buffett recalled meeting Princess Diana — and finding himself at a loss for words.

“I was in a room alone one time with Princess Di at a party. Somehow we find ourselves in this library,” he said. “In 15 minutes, I don’t think I could take it. I had trouble remembering my name, I couldn’t figure out anything to say, and it was a total disaster.”

Buffett had met Diana once other time, at a party hosted by former Washington Post publisher Katherine Graham “very shortly” before the royal’s 1997 death, when she told him something completely unexpected.

“She had been to the White House that day and she had said that Bill Clinton was the sexiest man alive,” he said before quipping, “And I didn’t ask her who the least sexy guy in the world alive was. I was afraid I might get my play in there.”

Princess Diana met with Bill and Hillary Clinton during his presidency, including attending a fundraising breakfast to benefit breast cancer research with the then-first lady in 1996.

[From People]

I mean… in the 1990s, many women thought Bill Clinton was sexy. People today really underestimate Bill Clinton’s charisma and his ability to charm the pants off of anyone. But this says more about Diana at that moment, finding her freedom and moving in some powerhouse circles. We also underestimate how Diana’s moves at that time really terrified the hell out of the musty old Windsors too. (It’s also sort of funny because around this time, she was also friendly with John F. Kennedy Jr, who was widely regarded as the Sexiest Man Alive at that moment.)
