I’m ambivalent about the Sex and the City revival. I know there are people out there who are not – and that’s great. We don’t all have to agree. Since I don’t really care all that much, I don’t really have too many feelings about the news that Big and Steve won’t be back. Apparently Chris Noth and D…

I’ve made a point of reading Judy Blume books to my kid. That wouldn’t have even been worthy of writing down 20 years ago, but now that there’s been an explosion of kid and YA- lit, these books are somehow not seen as essential extracurricular texts, never mind actually taught in school – no disresp…

Some reality shows have a “celebrity” version (for example, Big Brother has Celebrity Big Brother; Wife Swap has Celebrity Wife Swap) but The Celebrity Dating Game is a new one, I think? Zooey Deschanel and Michael Bolton will play matchmaker to a plebe and a celeb (this should be the tag line!). It…

I’ve read a lot of books on Saturday Night Live. Maybe not as many as Duana, as she’s the in-house expert, but enough to know what the schedule is for the week and how they make sketch decisions and the behind-the-scenes work process that by now, over forty years later, is legendary in and of itself…

When I think of Josephine Baker, my mind goes to HBO’s The Josephine Baker Story, which taught me just how much of a badass she was. Miss Baker was the Beyoncé of the 1920s. She made the banana skirt iconic. Baker’s story is one that needs to be immortalized onscreen, again. She went through four ma…

Jason Sudeikis has been in England for a month or two, hard at work on Ted Lasso Season 2. I’ve mentioned before that I came to Ted Lasso kind of late, but I’m a believer now: I completely love that show and Sudeikis is great in it. These aren’t spoilers – it’s not that kind of show – but Sudeikis plays Ted Lasso, an American college football coach who is brought in to coach a Premier League football (soccer) team. Lasso is having marriage troubles and he gets into some wonderful career/personal hijinks throughout Season 1. So pardon me if I think this particular story from Page Six reads exactly like a potential plot point from Season 2: Lazz Meets a Glamour Model.

Jason Sudeikis is moving on from his split with Olivia Wilde — and her new relationship with superstar singer Harry Styles — by spending time with a well-known British glamour model. The former “Saturday Night Live” star — who is currently filming his Apple TV show “Ted Lasso” in London — has grown close to Page 3 model Keeley Hazell in the wake of his split with Wilde, sources in London confirmed to Page Six.

Sudeikis’ relationship with Hazell, which was first revealed by the UK’s Sun, is going well, and he even named a character in “Ted Lasso” after the model, a star of The Sun’s Page 3, before their relationship turned from friendship into something more. On the show, actress Juno Temple plays a Page 3 model name Keeley, the kind-hearted girlfriend of a soccer player on the struggling team managed by Sudeikis’ character Lasso.

A source told The Sun, “When Jason found out about his wife and Harry, Keeley was one of the people whom he turned towards. During this time he was understandably devastated, but she was brilliant and incredibly supportive. He invited her to join him for a dinner with mates in LA, and their flirty banter quickly set tongues wagging. They have met up since, but obviously, it’s all very early days.”

The news outlet added, “Jason feels it’s too soon to leap into a new relationship — he is in absolutely no rush — but it’s a case of ‘watch this space.’”

Hazell, now 34, first became famous as a Sun Page 3 girl in 2004. She made her last appearance in those pages in 2009, then focused on launching an acting career. In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles, took acting lessons, and began landing roles in movies, including “Like Crazy” alongside Jennifer Lawrence. She is said to have first met Sudeikis, 45, during the filming of his movie “Horrible Bosses 2” in 2014.

[From Page Six]

What in the world is this timeline? I seriously doubt that Sudeikis had the “Keeley” character named after Keeley Hazell, especially since the character was introduced in Season 1, episode 1. It would be completely bizarre for him to demand that a character have a certain name of a glamour model he sort of knew but was not dating, because AGAIN, he was with Olivia Wilde at the time. As for Jason possibly dating the real Keeley right now… it kind of messes up the PR he got when Olivia ran off with Harry Styles. Jason’s people were insisting that Jason wanted to work on his relationship with Olivia and that he was heartbroken. And now Mr. Broken Heart has been quietly seeing a glamour model – that’s what British people call topless models – for months? Hm. Also: I would assume that the writers named that character “Keeley” because it seems like a pretty common name for British glamour models, which is basically what that character is? As I said, this is a mess, but I can’t wait for this storyline on Ted Lasso.

Mandy Moore arrives at the 2020 NBCUniversal Winter TCA Press Tour held at The Langham Huntington Hotel on January 11, 2020 in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California, United States.

In 2019, the NY Times did an exposé on Ryan Adams in which his ex-wife Mandy Moore and several other women spoke on the record about his years of creepy, manipulative, domineering behavior towards women. Mandy spoke about how he emotionally abused her for years and stunted her music and acting career, and other women detailed how he would manipulate and groom them – especially when they were quite young – and then string them along and dominate them. Again, this was 2019. Mandy had been divorced from him for four years at that point and she only looked back to tell her story and back up his other victims. Since then, she has said a few times that she doesn’t want to keep revisiting it because (as she rightly concluded) Ryan gets off on being talked about. Two years after the NYT exposé, another publication contacted Mandy for an interview, but only if she would rehash all of that sh-t again. When she told them no, they pulled their interview request. I can’t believe sh-t like this is still happening.

Mandy Moore has said all she’ll say about ex-husband Ryan Adams. On Tuesday, the “This is Us” star revealed on her Instagram Stories that she is furious that an unnamed publication wouldn’t interview her unless she delved “a certain subject” — which seemed to be her allegedly abusive relationship with the rocker. Moore, 36, said that her “blood is still boiling” that she was asked yet again about the matter.

“When they (the publication) were told that I had spoken plenty about a certain subject in my life and would have no further comment (truly there are countless interviews they could pull from, that story is over and there’s nothing more to say.),” she wrote.

“Any comment I make about said experience becomes clickbait and gives them the energy and time they seek and have already stolen from too many for too long,” Moore continued.

The “Candy” singer noted that she has been working in showbiz for over two decades, “but the message this sends is insulting and so out of touch with the cultural discussion around abusive relationships, directly linking someone’s value back to their abuser. The refusal to interview someone unless they agree to relieve that trauma publicly? No thank you,” she added.

Moore and Adams were married from 2009 to 2016. In 2019, Adams, 46 was accused of emotional abuse or sexual misconduct by seven women including Moore in an explosive exposé in the New York Times. Afterwards Moore said she had no regrets about opening up about the alleged abuse.

“Speaking your truth can be painful and triggering but it’s always worth it,” she wrote on Instagram. “My heart is with all women who have suffered any sort of trauma or abuse. You are seen and heard.”

[From Page Six]

I am very curious about which media outlet did this. Considering it really was the two-year anniversary of the NYT exposé, I kind of wonder if it was the Times. It could have been another outlet though, just looking to say something about the anniversary. What’s so f–king strange is that Mandy is currently promoting the fifth season of This Is Us, likely for sweeps (is that still a thing?). She literally has stuff to promote, but media outlets won’t talk to her about her art, at least not unless she’ll constantly relive and rehash her trauma? No. That’s not the way this happens, at all. Especially since she’s been pretty clear and explicit for two years that she has no interest in uttering that man’s name or constantly talking about him in the press. This is an extension of Ryan’s abuse, via media proxy.

Justin Timberlake, actor and musician, is at the photo shoot for the movie "Trolls World Tour" at th...

Of all the crappy apologies from white dudes, can we safely say that Justin Timberlake’s apology was one of the worst? Like, it was so bad, so late, and it just didn’t feel authentic. Justin didn’t even say whether he would offer personal apologies to both Britney Spears and Janet Jackson privately. I mean, there could be another reason for that – I doubt either woman wants to speak to him. But that doesn’t change the fact that A) Justin sucks and B) he conveniently chose to issue his apology statement just two weeks after his latest film was released on Apple+. But according to “sources,” Justin isn’t doing any of this for the publicity.

Justin Timberlake’s apology to ex-girlfriend Britney Spears and Janet Jackson is the real deal, according to sources close to the star.

“He did this on his own, and it’s really from the heart. This isn’t about publicity,” a source told Page Six.

On Friday, the “Cry Me a River” singer, 40, posted a lengthy apology to the singers for his role in how the media teated them following his breakup from Spears and fallout from Jackson’s 2004 Super Bowl performance.

Our source added that Timberlake is serious about being a part of the solution.

“He realizes he needed to speak up and that it’s been long enough,” they said. “He knows that he has sometimes benefited from these moments, and that he should’ve said something sooner to defend both of them. He means it, and he’s very happy that he’s able to speak up now. It’s a bigger conversation and he wants to do his part to help move solutions forward.”

[From Page Six]

“He knows that he has sometimes benefited from these moments” – “sometimes” is doing a lot of work there. Start there and pinpoint every single time you’ve benefited from your white male privilege and then come back and try to play it off as “sometimes.” “He realizes he needed to speak up and that it’s been long enough” = he can’t continue pretending that he doesn’t see all of the hashtags and criticism and if he could ignore it all for twenty more years, he totally would. “He wants to do his part to help move solutions forward” – I am very curious if he ever mentions any of this again.

Meanwhile, one good thing came out of all of this – people began streaming and downloading Janet Jackson’s album Control around the time of JT’s fauxpology.

Janet Jackson got more than an apology from Justin Timberlake … she got a revival. Janet’s 1986 album, “Control,” has skyrocketed on the charts since Justin issued his mea culpa Friday over her 2004 Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction. As you know, she was skewered by critics, while Justin remained silent and unscathed.

Well, “Control” hit #1 on the Apple Top 40 U.S. Pop Album Chart a week ago — before Justin’s apology. It was the 35th anniversary of the album. But after the apology it’s going really strong … now the 8th most downloaded album on Apple iTunes.

Janet took to social media and said, “I was at home just the other day by myself, and I began to cry. I was crying because I was so thankful for all that God has blessed me with, all that he has given me, and I’m so thankful for him being in my life….I’m so thankful for all of you being in my life. You’re so special to me, and I want to thank all of you for making ‘Control’ number one once again. After 35 years, never in a million years would I think that this would happen. I really appreciate you, and I love you so, so much. Thank you.”

[From TMZ]

As TMZ notes, people were already streaming and downloading Control before Timberlake’s apology, but they kept going and going when JT showed his ass again. I’m 100% behind “punishing” JT by elevating Janet’s music and Britney’s music. I wonder if the kids have rediscovered Rhythm Nation yet? That was my favorite Janet album growing up, I was completely obsessed with it. I hope fans rediscover Britney’s Blackout, which I think was a really underrated album at the time and still, today. “Gimme More,” “Freakshow,” and “Piece of Me” are three of my favorite Britney songs and they’re all on that album.
