We still don’t know the name of Princess Eugenie’s baby! I keep thinking that she’ll announce it on Instagram, like she announced her baby boy’s birth. I still think it will probably happen that way – while the press mocked and screamed at Meghan and Harry for their baby Instagrams, it really was the way to drag the Windsors into modernity. Plus, it would fit with the pandemic vibe to just do a simple IG announcement of the name. Still, I feel like Eugenie probably doesn’t want to announce the name right now, especially considering that Meghan’s lawsuit victory is still dominating headlines. When the announcement comes, what are the odds-on betting favorites for Baby Boy Brooksbank?
As the wait for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank to announce their baby boy’s name continues, a family moniker is leading the betting odds. According to gambling site Betfair, Philip is the favorite in the betting odds for Eugenie and Jack to call their first child with 10/3 odds. The name would have special significance to the new mom as it’s the name of her grandfather, Prince Philip, who will celebrate his 100th birthday in June.
“As we eagerly await the name of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s firstborn son to be revealed, there have been some changes in the betting market in the past day,” Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said. “Philip is still seeing a lot of love and has got even shorter at 10/3, with Royal fans anticipating him being named after his great-grandfather.”
Ladbrokes, another U.K. betting site, places the odds on the name Philip much lower, at 12/1. Ladbrokes also has traditional royal family names as the frontrunners: Arthur (a favorite in the betting odds since Eugenie announced her pregnancy in September) and Frederick are tied at the top (5/1), followed by James (6/1), Edward (8/1) and Albert (8/1).
However, both sites aren’t ruling out a more modern name for Eugenie and Jack’s new addition. Betfair has the odds for Oliver, a top baby boy name in the U.K. last year, now set at 4/1.

I really hope they avoid the old, Germanic family names. I also hate to think of a sweet baby in 2021 being named Albert. Come on. I love the name Oliver though, I always have. James is also a great name. I think Beatrice would be the York sister to suck up to her grandparents and name her child Philip, whereas Eugenie might go for a slightly more modern name, or at least a name that isn’t weighed down by centuries of family history. Justin Brooksbank? Jonathan Brooksbank? Isaac Brooksbank? Luke! Lucas. Benjamin Brooksbank! IDK, honestly. Definitely not Andrew though??

My favorite thing about the Obama administration was the sister-love between Michelle O and Jill Biden. I always got so excited when I saw those two ladies together. They were both such strong, educated AND loving women and an amazing example of how women can support each other. Despite both Jill and Michelle having similar attributes, they expressed them differently and that also made me happy. I also loved how their husbands so openly loved them and showed them affection. We now get Dr. Jill Biden as FLOTUS and I am excited to see what she will do. The good news is, we won’t have to wait too long. Dr. Biden has hit the ground running by visiting charities and taking home baked-cookies to the National Guardsmen protecting the Capitol. Now, she is taking on an even bigger challenge in her quest to fulfill her husband’s promise for free community college. As a part-time community college professor, Dr. Jill understands the importance of a higher education without unreasonable debt. Below is more on the project from People:
“We have to get this done and we have to do it now,” said Biden, 69, according to her press secretary, Michael LaRosa, who posted the comments on Twitter. “That’s why we’re going to make sure that everyone has access to free community college and training programs.”
She continued: “We’re going to make sure students have the support they need to cross that finish line. We’re going to invest in programs that prepare our workers for jobs of the future.”
The first lady, who has a doctorate in education, taught while serving as second lady and is continuing to work as a community college English professor while in the White House.
On the campaign trail, President Joe Biden also touted the importance of free community college or high-quality training programs for Americans.
Dr. Biden has likewise often touted the value of community colleges and advocated for increased access. In a 2015 interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, she pushed the tuition-free proposal, saying, “We want to make college affordable for all Americans.”
The Biden administration is likely to revive that idea.
“In the 21st century, twelve years of school isn’t enough,” he tweeted in December, roughly one month before taking office. “That’s why under the Biden-Harris plan, community college will be free — and public colleges and universities will be tuition-free for families earning less than $125,000 a year.”

I am so excited about this project because I feel that we shouldn’t have to get into so much debt for a higher education. Especially since we pay high taxes in many cases, which should be invested back into Americans. Free college is scary for corporations because they can use exorbitant debt to keep people working for low wages. I know that the original plan was brought to the House and Senate during the Obama administration and was blocked by Republican lawmakers. However, I hope the Biden administration learned from the first two years of the Obama administration and push these sorts of projects through while they have the numbers in all three branches of government. Projects like free college tuition and student loan relief will definitely make life better for many Americans. Also tuition free community college may motivate more people to go to school for specialization in fields that are seeing less enrollment.
Dr. Jill will do great things over the next four years. I look forward to Jill restoring integrity to the role of FLOTUS. Hopefully, we will get more footage of Jill hanging out with Michelle AND Doug. I hope Doug and Jill do a lot of projects together that will make life easier for everyday Americans. I also hope that the bill to pay off $10-25,000 student loan debt will also get passed. It is time that our government works for the people who elect them and not the corporate overlords. Hopefully the next few years will bring America back to center, both economically and culturally. I would like to see what happens to our economy and our morale when our government bails people out verses bailing out corporations who don’t even pay their fair share in taxes.

Cupid is really working to make me come around this Valentine’s Day, I can tell. I usually suggest a séance for V-Day, but I keep watching the couple’s featured in People’s first Love issue and now I’m feeling all smooshy inside. The second couple featured is Al Roker and Deborah Roberts. Like Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, they have also been married for 25 years. They have two children together, Leila and Nicholas, and Al’s daughter, Courtney, with his second wife Alice Bell. Among the ways they keep their romance alive is that Al leaves Deborah love notes all over their home, in her purse and in her suitcases when she travels.
After 25 years of marriage, Al Roker still loves romancing his wife Deborah Roberts.
“He does things like he sprinkles little love notes, little cards throughout my life,” Roberts, 60, says of the longtime Today co-host during a recent Zoom interview for PEOPLE’s first-ever Love Issue.
Jokes Roker, 66: “Who knew?”
“Who knew?” adds Roberts, ABC News’ senior national affairs correspondent who reports for 20/20, Good Morning America, Nightline and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir.
In the mornings, “sometimes there’s a little card next to the coffee maker that might say something encouraging or sweet or impish or fun,” says Roberts, sitting close to the NBC weather anchor after their cover photo shoot at Manhattan’s Crosby Street Hotel.
His swoon-worthy gestures aren’t just reserved for home, though. “When I travel, I open my suitcase and I find one or two notes in there that he’s slipped in, or in my purse.
‘Have a great day. I’m thinking of you.’ Or an Emily Dickinson sonnet or something,” she says.
“And I’m just like, ‘Oh my gosh.’ It just touches me. And he thinks that way all the time. He’s a real romantic,” says Roberts.
[From People]
Deborah said she loves the notes but in addition to those, Al calls her a few times a day to check in. Al said when he was growing up, his dad used to call his mom to ask about her day during his breaks at work. So Al saw this as something husbands do. The only problem is, the constant interruptions are not Deborah’s favorite. She’d rather wait and have a catch-up at the end of the day. But she’s learning to just take a moment and appreciate that he cares enough to check in. It reminds me of that Five Love Languages book and learning each other’s languages. As Deborah said, those calls, “mean something to him at that moment… He needs to hear my voice and I appreciate that.”
You can watch their video here. I found it quite relatable. It’s clear how much they respect and adore each other. But they acknowledge all the other parts of marriage, like the fact that overall your spouse is your favorite person, but there are moments you are fed up with them. And just like Deborah accepting that making the phone calls was more important to Al than they were annoying to her, you adjust and grow together. While Deborah praised Al being a romantic with his love notes, on the video, she acknowledged that it was easy to claim “romance and that will get us through.” What she credits much of her marriage to is “just showing up.” She called her determination to keep going a “decision.” This made a lot of sense to me. Being in love is the motivation to show up, but it’s the decision to show up on both your parts that makes the relationship last.
Oh my goodness, look at this beautiful couple!
