I am mad at Lainey. It’s kind of amazing how much I say that, here or on the podcast, on a site literally called LaineyGossip – maybe the only thing more amazing is that I do it because we both know that when we say it, it means we’re unexpectedly delighted… I am mad at her for sending me this Geor…
We know Oprah gives amazing presents (she’s been known to gift newborns with an “Oprah’s Book Club” for the nursery) and these flowers for Alicia Keys are not just a “Happy Birthday” but a statement of adoration. You don’t send these kind of flowers to someone you are just checking off a list. You w…
This weekend, the Sun, which is one of the British tabloids that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are suing, published an article about the change on Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s birth certificate. There’s been a lot of controversy about this so let’s break it down. Archie was born May 6, 20…

Thor: Love and Thunder—still low key mad this movie isn’t called Th4r—started filming in Australia last week. My mom had her first coronavirus vaccine shot more than a week ago. She had zero side effects and she says she’s been feeling great. The only bad thing is that she told me that there were many people in her assisted living facility who refused to take the vaccine when offered. That pissed me off so much, my God. I want to believe that most seniors are super-eager to take the vaccine, just like I tend to believe that it’s mostly younger people who spout anti-Vaxx crap. But here’s Olivia Newton-John, saying that she’s not going to take the vaccine. Her daughter is also an an anti-Vaxxer.
Olivia Newton-John said she has no plans yet to get the COVID-19 vaccine, despite being eligible in her home state of California, where they’re being offered to older adults. When asked if she’d get the shot, the 72-year-old actress said, “Not at this point, no,” Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper reported.
The “Grease” star, who is currently battling stage-four breast cancer, would qualify for the vaccine since it’s available to Californians ages 65 and older.
Newton-John didn’t elaborate on her decision, but her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, explained in the interview her own take on vaccines, the Independent reported.
“I’m not an anti-vaxxer. I’m anti putting mercury and pesticides in my body, which are in a lot of vaccines,” said 35-year-old Lattanzi, who has no medical qualifications and provided no evidence to back up her controversial reasoning. She explained that she no longer trusts doctors, claiming that she’s done her own “research” on vaccinations.
“To me real medicine is what comes from the earth. I think people trust vaccines because the doctor says it is safe, I used to,” Lattanzi said. Lattanzi said that she wished she had never been vaccinated for anything.

It’s possible that Olivia’s cancer is pretty advanced and she perhaps doesn’t believe that the coronavirus is ultimately that much of a threat to her. It’s also possible that Olivia and her daughter share the same negative views on vaccines and the same positive views on “holistic” medicine. Whatever the situation here, I just wish that more older folks were on board. We’ve heard so many stories about people waiting in line for hours for the vaccine and all of that, but I’m just worried that there’s a significant chunk of the older population who just wave off the vaccine.

I’m generally not an “eat the rich” kind of person. I can’t stand conspicuous consumption from rich, out-of-touch celebrities, but for the most part, I do feel like “eh, what did people expect.” For Martha Stewart specifically, I think she’s earned her good life. She built a good brand from scratch and she lives that elite WASP life. Martha also has a huge assortment of animals on her many properties. I knew about her Chow Chows, but I did not know that she also has French bulldogs. She was on her social media the other day, and two of her French bulldogs were on camera with her. Those dogs were wearing sparkly, bejeweled collars. Someone asked Martha where she got them. Her answer pissed me off!
Martha Stewart sure likes to pamper her pups. The domestic doyenne, 79, took to Instagram Tuesday to share some precious photos of her pooches enjoying her brand’s new CBD dog treats — but one fan couldn’t help but ask about the blinged-out collars on her French bulldogs, Crème Brûlée and Bête Noire.
“Where did those beautiful jeweled collars for the girls come from?,” the follower inquired.
“Van Cleef or Cartier I cannot remember!!,” Stewart replied.
While neither fine jewelry brand currently sells designated dog collars, similar diamond necklaces from the two companies will easily set you back tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Stewart isn’t the only one dressing up her pups. Both Ariana Grande and Priyanka Chopra have decked out their dogs in Tiffany & Co.’s blue leather collar ($275), and the latter even travels with her Chihuahua in a $2,000 Goyard tote.

Martha Stewart literally went to a jeweler – either Van Cleef & Arpels or Cartier!! – and had them make diamond dog collars for her French bulldogs. IN THIS ECONOMY!! I cannot. I love jewelry too and I think it’s fine to invest your money in great jewelry pieces, especially if you’re going to get a lot of use out of them. But Martha Stewart buying diamond necklaces for her French bulldogs has taken me over the edge.

I was going to say “not engaged but very in love” but the phrase “very in love” is weird and awkward and also, is there such thing as “very” in love? In love is in love. And Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are in love. And also lust? Like I’m looking at these shots of them in New York this weekend …
Since the very day of the January 6th insurrection, we’ve known that there were people within the Trump administration orchestrating the coup from the inside. Donald Trump and his people actively organized and promoted the “Stop the Steal” rally on the 6th, then Trump went to the rally in person and told them to storm the Capitol. Once Trump was back in the White House, he refused to authorize National Guard units to retake the Capitol for hours, and it was said that he enjoyed seeing the armed mob of white supremacists lay siege to the Capitol and terrorize the people inside.
Even beyond what we could see and read from Trump himself, it was also clear that the Capitol Police and National Guardsmen had been willfully unprepared for the attempted coup. Then, as the National Guard finally expelled the terrorists from the Capitol building, the terrorists still stayed on the federal property, throwing flash-bangs, waving Confederate flags and posing with the gallows they had erected. There were only a handful of arrests ON THE DAY of the siege, a fact which still shocks me. The lack of preparedness by the Capitol Police is one of the reasons why Speaker Pelosi demanded the resignation of the chief of the CP (she got the resignation). That’s why the Capitol Police have still not given one f–king press conference about the events of January 6th, even when one of their officers was murdered by the terrorist mob, and even now that two of their officers have died by suicide post-insurrection.
All that being said – and I don’t want it to get lost that the Capitol Police have been infiltrated by white supremacists who were rooting for the terrorists – it’s also the case that Trump Pentagon officials placed deadly limits on how the National Guard could and should react to armed terrorists laying siege to the Capitol.
In testimony before the House this week, Capitol Police and D.C. National Guard officials acknowledged that by Jan. 4 they understood that “… the January 6th event would not be like any of the previous protests held in 2020. We knew that militia groups and white supremacist organizations would be attending. We also knew that some of these participants were intending to bring firearms and other weapons to the event. We knew that there was a strong potential for violence and that Congress was the target.”
On that same day, former acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller issued a memo to the secretary of the Army placing some extremely unusual limits on National Guard forces for that event. It’s not a to-do list. It’s a list of thou shalt nots. A long list. A list that says guard forces can’t arrest any of the pro-Trump protesters, or search them, or even touch them. And that’s just for starters.
The full memo shows that the D.C. Guard did receive a request from D.C. government for guard presence during the Jan. 6 event. Miller responds promptly to go ahead, so long as the soldiers are given no weapons, no body armor, and no helmets. They can bring agents like pepper spray or flashbangs. They can’t share any gear with Capitol Police or Metro D.C. Police. They can’t … really do much of anything.
When initial reports indicate that the handful of National Guard forces that were deployed to D.C. on that day were dedicated to directing traffic several blocks away from the area of the Trump rally, it may simply be because that’s the only thing they could find for them to do considering the restrictions that were given. It’s clear that these restrictions would have absolutely prevented any guard forces from trying to protect any location.
This goes along with the stories of how the Capitol Police officers were mostly left without the necessary gear on the day as well – Capitol Police superiors were working in concert with the Trump administration to aid and abet the terrorists. There were officials in the Pentagon facilitating an attempt to overthrow the American government and murder the vice president and members of Congress.
Smoking gun: The orders from Miller to the DC National Guard for January 6 included in linked article— is a must read. The DC guard were allowed no helmets, no body armor, no weapons. They were not allowed to stop or arrest protesters. Letter orders no interference with rioters https://t.co/py9y17iw0U pic.twitter.com/tjsLBVcbPn
