Chris Brown’s interview aired on Larry King Live last night where he explained that his relationship with Rihanna was much like Romeo and Juliet’s.
Brown showed up to the interview in a powder blue sweater and bow tie, telling King that after the incident with Rihanna occurred, it was the media that really drove them apart.
The two tried to spend time at Diddy’s mansion in Miami to work things out. During this time Brown interpreted the Romeo and Juliet metaphor, explaining, “It was sort of like Romeo and Juliet story, like both sides not wanting us to kind of have contact so we just got away.”
He also told King that during that time, which he says was the worst time of his life, he and Rihanna were able to rekindle their friendship.
“I’m pretty sure we can always be friends,” he said, “and I don’t know about our relationship, but I just know definitely that we ended as friends.”
He told over and over again that he loved Rihanna. “I’ve said countless times how sorry I am to Rihanna. I accepted full responsibility but it’s just one of those things I wish I could have relieved and just handled totally different.”
There were other moments that he wishes he could go back in time and change, such as the physical anger.
One police said that Brown pushed Rihanna last year and busted the windows of a car in a fit of rage just three weeks before hitting Rihanna.
And though he has a rocky past, Brown says, “I don’t think at the end of the day my career is over.”
